The Littlefork-Big Falls School Board Wednesday agreed to internally post for a position that would combine the title of principal, district assessment coordinator and athletic director.
Christopher Bachmeier, L-BF dean of students, reports that the position will be full time, effective for the 2012/13 school year.
The board also agreed to internally post for a full-time social studies teacher position at the beginning of the 2012/13 school year.
In other business, the board also agreed to hire Chris Portner, The Concrete Guy, to fix the school’s sidewalks, replace flooring in the bus garage, and trench the front of the bus garage for about $31,000, reports Bachmeier.
Also Wednesday, the board agreed to call for bids for bread, fuel, and propane for the 2012/13 school year. Bids are expected to be opened at the June meeting, which was rescheduled to June 27.
Bachmeier reported that the board agreed to allow music teacher Aron Bohnert to teach band lessons to students during the summer months. According to Bachmeier, about 43 students signed up for lessons.
The board heard an update Wednesday on the elementary school being recognized as a Rewards School by the Minnesota Department of Education. Bachmeier said only the top 15 percent of elementary schools in the state receive the award.
