The Littlefork-Big Falls School District has received a grant from the Marshall N. Knudson Family Community Fund in International Falls, according to L-BF business manager Shelley Williams.
The L-BF school board accepted the funds at its regular meeting Wednesday in Littlefork.
The grant in the amount of $3,150 is to be used for the Accelerated Reader Program which is in wide use by primary and secondary schools. AR involves software that monitors the daily progress of reading. An additional amount of $750 to cover the cost of incorporating the program will be provided by the district.
In other business, the board accepted the resignation of C team volleyball coach Tom Millerbernd. The position will be advertised by the district, according to Williams.
The district awarded commodity bids and they are as follows: bread, J&D Foods of Littlefork; milk, Land O’ Lakes of Moorhead; propane gas, Lakes Gas of International Falls; and garbage, Friend’s Garbage Service of International Falls.
The L-F high school student for May is Jared Ecklund; the junior high student of the month is Tyler Vork.
