Achievement Improvement Monitor Program discussed

The Littlefork-Big Falls School Board received information on the Achievement Improvement Monitor (AIM) Program when it met in regular session Wednesday.

Interventionist Angie Williams presented details on the program which involves the monitoring of reading, math, and behavior of students by teachers at multiple times during the school year. An overview of AIM will be given to the staff during in-service days at the beginning of the 2010-2011 school year, according to Superintendent Fred Seybert.

In the school’s traditional colors of orange and black, 29 L-BF students are scheduled to graduate at 7:30 p.m. on May 28.

The board Wednesday adopted the reimbursable meals and meal charge policy. A change in the policy requires that households must reapply each school year for free and reduced meals. Also, charges for school meals may not accumulate to an amount more than $10 per family. Parents will be able to view their family meal account via the parent portal online.

The board will seek bids to supply bread, milk, and propane for one year; and garbage for two years; for District 362. Bids must be received by noon on June 14. Further information can be obtained at the District 362 Office at L-BF School.

The resignations of Nancy McBride as student council advisor; and Lisa Lehman as head girls basketball coach were accepted. The board appointed Cynthia Grotberg as Community Education Recreation Commission representative through the year 2011.

The L-BF position of head cook has been advertised, and the screening and interviews of candidates are to be scheduled, according to Seybert.

Changes in the school’s computer policy have been tabled and staff will be asked for additional ideas and suggestions to be returned to the Policy Committee, Seybert said.
