The Falls High School trap team held its end-of-year fun shoot at the Moonlight Rock Range Wednesday.

The event allowed the Broncos to shoot alongside their families and friends, along with recognizing the top shooters of the season.

Taking the top-shooter awards for varsity were:

  • Female: Kori Battalion (23.0 average)
  • Male: Asher Belanger (22.7 average)

Head coach Keith Boelk said he was very happy with the way his team performed this season.

"We finished second in the conference, the kids came a long way and I think we had a really good season," he said.

However, the Broncos still have a couple more competitions to compete in.

First, the Broncos will travel to Baudette Sunday to take on Lake of the Woods in the second half of the Border Battle.

Finally, the Broncos will travel to Alexandria to compete in the Minnesota State Trap Tournament.

"There will be over a thousand shooters there," Boelk said. "It'll be a fun thing for the kids to compete in and I think they'll do really well."

The state tournament will take place Wednesday.
