LITTLEFORK — Heat couldn’t keep crowds away from Littlefork this weekend as hundreds flocked to the only district fair left in Minnesota.
The Northern Minnesota District Fair wrapped up Sunday after a successful four days of the 98th annual event, and organizers are already looking at plans for next year.
“The 98th annual Northern Minnesota District Fair is over for the year,” said a post on the fair’s Facebook page. “Thank you to all that came out to the fair this year: our sponsors, vendors, exhibitors, petting zoo, carnival and volunteers, without you the fair would not be possible. Also a huge shout out to the fair board, we have put in lots of hours this year to help make the fair a success...We hope to make 2020 even better.”
Crowds filled the fairgrounds Thursday night, the opening night of the four-day event, indicating the following three days would continue to attract people from near and far.
The fair featured returning favorites such as fireman’s Bingo, rides, vendors, entertainment, horse shows, tractor pulls and more.
Posts across social media indicated fun was had by all at the mid-summer get together.
