A new high temperature record of 47 degrees was set Saturday, breaking the former record of 44 set in 1997.
The National Weather Service in Duluth reported the normal temperature for Dec. 15 is 19, with the 47-degree record 19 degrees warmer than normal.
The high for the same day last year was 11, the NWS website said.
The low temperature Saturday was 14, nowhere near the record cold temperature for the day of minus 32 set in 2013. The normal low for the day is zero.
Saturday also brought some high winds, with the NWS reporting the highest gust speed that day of 26 miles per hour.
Snowfall in International Falls is 10.3 inches less than the 23.2 inches considered normal, the NWS website said.
Since Dec. 1, International Falls has received 1.4 inches of snow; the normal amount since Dec. 1 is measured at 7.2 inches.
Sunday also brought warm temperatures and high winds, but fell short of breaking records.
The NWS reported a high of 37 Sunday, with the record of 43 set in 1913. The normal temperature for Dec. 16 is 19.
The highest wind gust Sunday was 37 mph.
