Fifth grader Anna Cowman, 11, recently donated her hair to Locks of Love, a public non-profit organization that provides hairpieces to financially disadvantaged children in the United States and Canada suffering from long-term medical hair loss from any diagnosis. Anna’s mom, Maria Cowman, told The Journal that Anna has a history of contributing to good causes. Anna asked friends to skip the presents for her birthday in December and instead give money that Anna donated in February to the Borderland Humane Society. Maria said she has made the contributions not for attention for herself, but because she is thinking of others in need.
