In the city code, effective August 9, 2007
Chapter VI Power And Duties of City Council- sec 80. CONDEMNATION
The city council shall have the power to "acquire by condemnation", dedication or otherwise for "any" municipal purpose, lands within or without the city, for and to lay out, open, widen and extend streets, allys avenues, bridge approaches, parks and public grounds-- etc.etc.
The city shall not be limited etc. etc. but may acquire property or easements by condemnation or otherwiseforany" municipal purpose.
I left some out, all of which can be read by the individual reader as needed but nowhere does it say here or any other place in our city code that the council can at its discretion choose "when or if it wants" to act in our best interests as "it" chooses.
1. This being the case, I expect the city council in total to start acting on the condemnation proceedings, as required, to provide for the extension of 332, "if" the extension of 332 is needed.
2. "If" a safety problem exists on the burner road, it is the responsibility of the city council, to include the Chief of Police, to rectify that safety problem to the benifit of the cities residents. This does not entail giving or trading anything to anybody.
3. This is "not" a matter for the county government to stick their noses in.
4. "If" any loss of city residents property results because of the inability of city council to act as their duties are dictated, it is and will be the the "legal" responsibilty of the members of said city council to be held liable to include monetarily responsible.
5. Should any accident result on city property due to "any" employee of city council to include the Chief of Police and each member of city council to have acted in accordance with their duties and obligations they shall be held as responsible as any persons or corporation having caused such injury on city property.
This silly inactivity and inability to function will stop today. Do something even if its wrong or resign tommorrow. You took an oath, you swore and allegiance to work for and do the cities obligation to its residents and you will do your obligation and duty or be held responsible even if Joe doesn't think so. You silly kids ran out of time and my patience, act now with some kind of plan or I will put the issue in front of a court.
