The library is working with the Koochiching County Law Library to better serve all the residents of the county. The law library is currently located in the courthouse and only available during business hours. The trustees of the law library are working to update the collection, divide it into resources primarily for trained lawyers and resources for the general public needing to represent themselves or just wanting more information. he resources to assist non-lawyers will be housed at the public library and available whenever the library is open.

At this time these resources won’t be available for checkout, but the library owns a number of resources that are available for checkout. We will also be receiving a computer connected to a printer with access to a variety of online legal sites to further assist you in your research. The library staff are not lawyers and cannot provide anyone with legal advice. We can however, assist you in finding resources for you to help yourself. We hope this change will benefit everyone.
