Not being as smart or as well informed as Tom and of course realizing that the field of"Economics" being an area of endeavor of which I have looked in my pocketbook and found to have little knowledge of, I have spent the most of the day researching...
Empowerment Zones-- and believe all in government should read this plan. All I can say is unbelievable, of course I am probably at least a dollar short and at least a day late. No doubt, all in city and county government have read this and found it to be wanting. I find, on the otherhand...five differant fingers. No, thats not right, I find that this is exactely the kind of program we need up here.

Very unique to say the least. Google and find much more reading to say the least. Not at all compared to the FTZ but even much better, much better, if we can still get in on this.

This program is being used by many communities in the country with sucess and as yet can find little fault and lots of promise.
It appears to be a USDA funded program with gobs of federal money being given/granted/loaned to local governments to build upon.
Thank Tom not me, he is the one who put the question foreward for anybody to look up on their own initiative and I did as he probably knew I might. Big time program for a big time need in our town and county.
