Supreme Court Strikes Down D.C. Gun Ban, and Upholds Individual Right To Keep and Bear Arms
We laud the outcome of this Supreme Court decision, but at the same time we are extremely alarmed at the closeness of the vote, a 5-4 decision. Do you realize that we were only ONE VOTE from losing our right, under the Second Amendment to keep and bear arms! This is scary because if the extreme left socialists win this next election, and the anti-gun activist Barack Obama is in the position of appointing a Supreme Court Justice, be prepared to see more political legislation from the bench and a loss of our Constitutional Rights. Keep in mind that Obama’s running mate, Joe Biden, is also an anti-gun activist.
A famous gentleman from Virginia once said, "Firearms stand next to importance to the Constitution itself. They are the people's liberty teeth keystone ... the rifle and the pistol are equally indispensable ... more than 99 percent of them by their silence indicate that they are in safe and sane hands. The very atmosphere of firearms everywhere restrains evil interference. When firearms go, all goes, we need them every hour." This man was George Washington in his address to the first session of Congress. I wonder what he and the founding fathers would think of us today?
