After spending the day trying to figure out the new blog site format, new to me as I have been gone for two years, I think I have it figured out. I previously had commented on some ethical election considerations at another area of the Journal blog site, but will continue my interest in local candidates and actions, if any, at this location. Thank you Thomas, for your response, you are as astute in your observations as always and as quick witted as ever. A new blogger, Ethical Matter, had an accurate response without disclosing any definitive answer to my question as to just what constitutes local election ethics. I guess this is a safe, if not practical response, but consider this following. If I was asked by a candidate to place his signs in my yard and I had agreed that this was okay for him to do so, that would indicate to all including the opponet that the persons signs I had approved was the candidate I felt comfortable with. It would seem to me that any attempt to verbally argue, even to the point of stress, would constitute intimidation. I for instance could not and would not ever agree with all of the positions of the former Mayor or current Mayor, however in general I trusted their judgement and etical standards always, even when I might disagree. I would vote and did vote for both of them and both would have been my friends even if I had choosen to place another candidates signs in my yard. To use any arguement other than a position on a political position to attempt to remove a sign, to me, would constitute a personal intimidation. I think that is unethical and want to know if others think this also.
