To the editor

I take my hat off to all the organizers, volunteers and International Fall public works and safety personnel who worked so diligently during the recent International Falls Bass Championship.

I am proud of this city and it’s perseverance when confronted with obstacles and still are able to pull off such a successful event.

We have a great city, we always seem to find people who will step up to the plate and bring these activities to a successful fruition.

This city, as any city, needs to give back to the people in forms of events like this past weekend, the same goes for the Fourth of July celebration, concerts in the park and Riverfest, along with partnering with Backus and others to fill a need our people hunger for.

Cultural and social activities give back to the residents and lift the spirits of all of us, while at the same time exhibits to visitors the willingness of our community to show sides of life other than the ability we have to enjoy some of the best outdoors activities in Minnesota.

Again, none of this could be done without the organization committees, volunteers and city staff working together to make this town one that we can look at with pride.
