To the editor,

It must be awful for people to spend their lives fearing things that can’t hurt them. It must also be awful to live life trying to control everyone. What a colossal waste of time and energy.

There has been an incredible amount of time and money spent on the ‘Marriage Amendment.’ Why would any person or group devote time to demonizing a segment of humanity?  Why would any Minnesotan who values freedom and personal rights go to the polls this fall and support an inhumane, unfair constitutional amendment? Really?  Who made you so fearful that you think we need to amend the Constitution? Do you truly understand the consequences of chucking our Constitution full of needless wordage for the unforeseeable future?

Defeating this amendment is critical to keeping liberties and possibilities alive and well in Minnesota.  Protecting every segment of our population from discrimination should be the flag we wave not only as Minnesotans and Americans, but as decent human beings.
