To the editor,
To our governments: Whether it be national, state or local, the United States spends trillions of dollars policing foreign countries — countries that do not want us there. Here in the U.S., we have police, sheriff, Customs, Border Patrol, Coast Guard, FBI, CIA, and who knows how many more agencies — to protect the U.S. citizen. But absolutely nothing for our schools.
The future of the world is our children. Who is going to be man enough and step up to the plate and fix this problem? Men win wars, not mice. All of the servicemen and women who gave the ultimate sacrifice for our freedom; freedom for our children. These people coming home to no work, no job. Well, here’s jobs for them — school guards. Or will our governments and schools hem and haw around, delay this subject hoping it will just pass and fade away until the next tragedy happens. And by putting guards in schools the government would have to admit they’re wrong. And they would lose their debate on gun control. The president’s kids are under armed guards at their school, so why not ours?
Governments have to get a kickback from whatever they do. The almighty dollar is more important than the lives of innocent children.
