To the editor,
This is an open letter to the person or persons who stole the flowers off my mother's grave. What kind of people are you to steal flowers off graves, put there for Memorial Day?
I will give a bit of background. My mother died 66 years ago on May 25 leaving three little kids, myself and two brothers. All we have is a few short memories. All we can do is put flowers out.
My mom is buried in Section O, right next to the road. Easy to grab them, wasn’t it? For the first time, this year, I wanted to put live flowers out. So, I planted these, turned out pretty good. Put them out on Saturday afternoon. Went out to the cemetery Monday morning, they were gone. I left in tears, went to Kmart, got an artificial wreath, and went back, and put it on her grave. Couldn’t have her grave without something on it, from me, and for my brothers.
I don’t understand people like you. No ethics, values, morals or self respect. You are deplorable human beings.
Enjoy the flowers, I know you will, and every time you look at them, be very proud. Say, “I stole these off a mother's grave." And say it every morning when you look at yourself in the mirror. Tell your kids, family and friends, so they can be proud of you, too. I know you will enjoy the flowers, because you have no conscience.
Oh, and when someone sees them on your deck, be sure to tell them how you got them. I will never again put live flowers out because of the low-class people like you. I would say, in closing, you must sure be proud of the kind of people you are.
