To the editor,
It was 11 p.m., Friday, June 22, just south of Stop Island, Rainy Lake. Suddenly a boat traveling very fast was heading straight for my bow.
My running lights were on and should have plainly visible to anyone watching where they were going. It took a hard turn on the tiller to just barely avoid being run over by you and when I turned to look back, there was no indication that you knew what had happened. Your boat simply sped straight on its course.
Were you drunk? Were you navigating by GPS?
I am left to wonder, but my plea to boaters is: Watch where you are going and do not rely on GPS at night.
Glad to be alive.
