To the editor,
I think I am a decent human being. I am not particularly fearful of anything or living my life in fear. I do understand the methodology and rational of constitutional amendments.
And, by the way, I certainly do not have any religious convictions that color my thought process. And it does seem reasonable and logical to me that “Only a union of one man and one woman shall be valid or recognized as a marriage in Minnesota”. Which, by the way, is the exact wording of the proposed amendment. It does not prohibit civil unions. To me it is not inhumane, unfair, or discriminatory. It does preserve the traditional meaning of the word marriage.
I intend to vote ‘Yes’ on this issue. I certainly encourage every one to get out and vote. And do not vote in fear of anything; just vote your conscience while recognizing that others of good conscience will disagree with you.
