I am writing today as a former employee of Littlefork Nursing Home. When I worked at the Nursing Home I did not ever notice if the administrator who made the comments in the newspaper article has ever walked in the Nursing Home or met any of the residents. I really thought that the LPNs and RNs really did a good job and the CNAs pulled together as a team. I can say that Laurie the don or Cal, the administrator do not really help at all the main work is done by the staff there and they had a good staff when I worked there. I was not working when this incident happened and am not sure who the lpn they blame but maybe things shoudl be done differently. I did go visit a family member last summer and noticed the same thing, Laurie and Calvin were in their offices but when I used the bathroom I noticed the social worker who normally did nothing but sit in her big office gossiping in lauries' office gossiping. The nursing home is run by the nursing staff and they do a good job doing so. It really is a nice Nursing Home on beautiful grounds with a wonderful, friendly atmosphere and great nurses running it. I don't know if the dining experience is still there but they put on a wonderful fancy meal for the residents that enjoyed it. I know when I look for a home for my parents or myself and spouse I will be looking for one where the upper management is very involved instead of sitting in their air conditioned offices complaining about what needs to be done or blaming others.
