If you read the Daily Journal on a regular basis, then you must be as appalled as I am by the constant misspelling that appears in our beloved newspaper. Usually the offenses are committed by the local scribes. I have often wondered if they have spell check, or if they read their copy before they send it in, then I realized that they are lazy. No self-respecting "journalist" would put their name on something like that which everyone could read. Could I do better? Why, yes, of course. It was once the responsibility of the local newspaper to be the standard bearer of punctuation, correct spelling and relevant content for all school children to see. I guess I am too old-fashioned or just too old to expect that from our dear Daily Journal.
