International Falls Fire Department

Fire: Falls firefighters spent about 20 minutes Monday extinguishing a fire in a stairwell at apartments within the Ben Franklin Crafts building, 327 Third St. According to the report, a cigarette butt is suspected to have started the fire, which caused minimal damage to the building.

 

International Falls Police Department

Collision: A vehicle driven by Jeffery C. Voigt, 41, Park Rapids, struck a vehicle Monday owned by Susan S. Larsen, County Road 20, parked at 300 Seventh St. Damage to the grill was reported, but no damage estimate was included in the report.

Burglary: Bradley J. Hopke, First Avenue West, reported Oct. 29 that someone entered his unlocked garage in the last two weeks and took a gas can and 1984 Mercury outboard motor.

Hit-and-run: Stuart J. Milette, Highway 11 East, reported Oct. 27 that his vehicle sustained damage while parked either at the County Market or Rainy Lake Medical Center hospital campus, both located off Highway 11-71, where it was struck by a vehicle that left the scene. No damage estimate was included in the report.

Burglary: Laura F.R. Kirk, Fifth Street, reported Oct. 26 that someone entered her residence during the night while she was in the house and took numerous pairs of undergarments.
