False alarms: Firefighters responded to a car fire at Trustar Federal Credit Union, 601 Fourth St., at about 10 a.m. Thursday. Firefighters returned to the Fire Hall after finding out that what appeared to be smoke was steam from a blown radiator hose. At 6:40 a.m. Thursday, firefighters were turned back to the hall after it was found out that an alarm at The Y-Knot Quick Stop, Highway 11-71, had malfunctioned.

Theft: Harold H. Helgeson, Town Road 180, Ray, owner of H & S Logging, reported Tuesday that a Jonsrud chainsaw and 40 gallons of diesel fuel were taken from a logging site of the east end of the Ray North Road, also known as County Road 3.
