Fatal fall: Jeremy Jo Froemke, 19, Lisbon, N.D., fell to his death Tuesday after falling from a cell communications tower he had been climbing near Solway. According to the report, Froemke had fallen from a distance of 153 feet to the ground and was killed on impact. Investigators determined Froemke was equipped with a safety harness when the accident occurred. Responding to the scene were the Beltrami County Sheriff’s Office, Minnesota State Patrol, Solway Fire Department, Bemidji Ambulance and North Country First Responders. North Memorial Air Care was canceled enroute.
Assault: Damien Matthew Charnoski, 30, Bemidji, was found early Wednesday morning on a road east of Bemidji. He was transported to the Sanford Bemidji Medical Center and subsequently transported by air ambulance to a Fargo hospital. It was later determined the injuries were the result of a brutal assault which occurred sometime after the victim left a downtown Bemidji bar with individuals yet to be identified. Anyone with information regarding this assault is asked to contact the Beltrami County Sheriff’s Office at 218-333-9111.
