Arrests: Three Koochiching County men remain in custody after being arrested in connection with several incidents, according to Chief Deputy Brian Jespersen. The men are suspected of causing about $50,000 damage to logging equipment, owned by DeLack Logging, on County Road 119 near Ericsburg May 6. According to Jespersen, the equipment was driven, damaged by gunfire, and windows were broken out.
Later that same day, the men are suspected to have taken a vehicle owned by Elizabeth A. Opdahl, County Road 2, from her residence. The vehicle was later recovered in International Falls.
In the early hours of May 7, the men are suspected of forcing entry into the Northome Liquor Store and taking liquor.
Property damage: Vehicles were chipped and windows broke on vehicles parked at the Donald J. Urban residence, County Road 2, May 6 when a vehicle entered the yard and spun around spraying gravel onto the vehicles.
International Falls
Police Department
Collision: Vehicles driven by John R. Heppner, 18, Highway 53, and Stephen S. Hillier, 21, Emo, Ontario, collided May 6 at Fourth Avenue West and Sixth Street causing more than $1,000 damage.
Collision: Vehicles driven by Kimberly J. Morin, 23, Third Avenue, and Kristine L. Everett, 11th Street, collided May 6 at 1709 Second Ave. W. causing more than $1,000 damage.
Motor theft: Manny B. Herzig, County Road 20, reported May 4 that a 15-horse power outboard motor was taken from his yard. The motor is valued at $1,200.
