International Falls Fire & Rescue
Fire: Deputies responded June 12 to a report of a structure fire at a residence on Highway 11 owned by Kelly Mattsen. Responding deputies found the garage was largely engulfed in flames. The IFFD responded and was able to extinguish the blaze. Mattsen reported that they were alerted to the fire by a passerby. The fire appears to have originated from a heat lamp in the chicken coop. The chicken coop and garage appear to be a total loss but the fire did not spread to the residence.
