Jail death: Sheriff Brian Jespersen reports that a 68-year-old man died this week while in custody at the jail from what appears to be natural causes. The death is under investigation and an autopsy is pending.
Jail fight: A 30-year-old man in custody at the jail was taken to a Duluth hospital Oct. 5 with injuries sustained in a fight at the jail.
ATV accident: A side-by-side all terrain vehicle driven by Eric G. Venneman, 44, St. Paul, went off the Haney Road near County Road 29 Oct. 4 injuring passenger Steven D. Skwarek, 36, East Bethel.
Off road: A vehicle driven by Walter P. Mai Jr., County Road 97, left the road Oct. 2 and struck a tree after hitting a deer on County Road 97.
