District Court

The following people have been sentenced for aggravated misdemeanor or felony crimes in Koochiching County District Court.

• Jeremy R. Nelson, 34, International Falls, was sentenced Nov. 16 for felony second-degree burglary — dwelling.

He was given a stay of imposition of sentence and placed on five years supervised probation. He may not consume or possess alcohol or drugs and successfully complete drug court. He must pay fees of $75.

• Keith I. Daymond, 44, International Falls, was sentenced Nov. 26 for felony receiving stolen property and gross misdemeanor interfere with 911 call.

On the felony, he was sentenced to 13 months at the Minnesota Correctional Facility, St. Cloud, which was stayed on court conditions. He was placed on five years supervised probation and ordered to pay $150 court fees. He must serve 80 hours with the Sentence To Serve program and complete the recommendations of an assessment. He may not use or possess alcohol or drugs or enter places where it is being used. He must supply a DNA sample to the state and submit to random tests and searches.

On the gross misdemeanor, he was sentenced to one year jail, which was stayed on court conditions. He was placed on three years supervised probation and ordered to pay $150 fees. The sentence is to run concurrent with the previous sentence.

• Russell E. Petrick, 25, International Falls, was sentenced Nov. 26 for gross misdemeanor driving after cancellation — posing a threat to public safety.

He was sentenced to one year jail and $225 fine and fees. All but 30 days of the jail time was stayed. He was placed on three years supervised probation and may not use alcohol or controlled substances. He must submit to random testing and follow the recommendations of a chemical assessment.

• Derek M. Briggs, 41, International Falls, was sentenced Nov. 26 and Nov. 27 for felony fleeing a peace officer in a motor vehicle and gross misdemeanor driving snowmobile or all-terrain vehicle under the influence of alcohol.

On the felony, he was given a stay of imposition of sentence and placed on five years supervised probation. He was ordered to pay a $50 fine.

On the gross misdemeanor, he was sentenced to one year jail and $175 fine and fees. All but 30 days of the jail was stayed on court conditions and he was placed on three years supervised probation. He was ordered to complete a substance abuse program and follow its recommendations. The sentence is to be served concurrently with the previous sentence.

• Dakota S. Alman, 20, International Falls, was sentenced Nov. 26 for felony theft — take/drive motor vehicle without owners consent and felony first-degree property damage.

On the theft, he was sentenced to 28 months at the Minnesota Correctional Facility, St. Cloud.

On the property damage, he was sentenced to 19 months at the Minnesota Correctional Facility, St. Cloud. The sentence is to be served concurrently with the previous sentence.

• Jerry D. Dilly, 49, Littlefork, was sentenced Nov. 26 for felony fifth-degree possession of drugs.

He was given a stay of adjudication and placed on five years supervised probation. He was ordered to serve 60 days jail and $500 fees. He must follow the recommendations of a chemical use assessment and he is subject to random testing. He may not use drugs without a prescription and must serve 40 hours with the Sentence to Serve program.

• Shirley L. Dilly, 48, Littlefork, was sentenced Nov. 26 for felony fifth-degree possession of drugs.

She was given a stay of adjudication and placed on five years supervised probation. She was ordered to pay $175 fees and may not use controlled substances without a prescription.

• Perry L. Heck, 53, Kelliher, was sentenced Nov. 26 for gross misdemeanor driving after cancellation of license — posing a threat to public safety.

She was given a stay of adjudication and placed on three years probation. She was ordered to pay $325 fees and ordered to serve 40 hours with the Sentence to Serve program.

• Lorraine G. M. Silfer, 33, International Falls, was sentenced Nov. 26 for gross misdemeanor furnishing liquor to a person less than age 21.

She was sentenced to one year jail and placed on two years probation. All but 10 days jail was stayed on court conditions. She was ordered to serve 32 hours with the Sentence to Serve program.

• John A. Majerus, 62, International Falls, was sentenced Nov. 26 for gross misdemeanor criminal vehicular operation — operate vehicle with negligence under the influence of alcohol.

He was sentenced to one year jail and $1,175 fine and fees. All but 10 days of the jail time was stayed and he was placed on three years supervised probation. He may not use or possess alcohol or enter places where it is being used or sold. He must follow the recommendations of a chemical evaluation and submit to random testing. He must serve 80 hours with the Sentence to Serve program.
