One Northome man is hospitalized with a stab wound and another is in Koochiching County Jail following an altercation among household members that apparently resulted in the stabbing.

Koochiching County Sheriff Perryn Hedlund told The Journal that deputies responded late Wednesday to the report of an altercation at a residence on Highway 46, Northome, where they found Craig Biberg, 45, injured. He initially denied medical attention, but was later life-flighted for his injuries after being transported to Rainy Lake Medical Center.

The suspect in the stabbing, Kyle Leach-Bohan, 19, Northome, was arrested and booked into the Koochiching County Jail on suspicion of second-degree assault, Hedlund said.

Koochiching County Sheriff’s Office deputies were assisted by Itasca County deputies and the Minnesota State Patrol.
