Work to start Monday

The site of a severe “bump” on the west side of the Highway 11 East bridge over the Canadian National Railway tracks, east of Ranier, could be lessened after Monday, when MnDOT reports work should begin.

This year’s portion of work on the Highway 11 East bridge over the Canadian National Railway tracks is expected to begin Monday — two weeks ahead of schedule, reports Beth Petrowske, public affairs, Minnesota Department of Transportation District 1.

“This year’s work will include constructing the bridge approach panels, the low-slump overlay on the bridge and the last layer of bituminous,” she told The Journal. “To complete this work we have to stage similar to last year and will utilize a portable signal system.”

The work is anticipated to be completed by Oct. 4.

The public is reminded that this is still a construction area so they should reduce speed and stay in the appropriate lane.
