The Rainy Lake Medical Center Auxiliary met Jan. 8 at the hospital. Outgoing president Beverly Beck called the meeting to order and led in the prayer for hospital auxiliaries. She then turned the gavel over to the newly elected president Sonja Wegge.
Committee reports were heard. Gift Shop Chairperson Helen Billig reported a successful Christmas season. All of the fruitcakes were sold.
It was announced that the beautiful quilt fashioned by Pam Hanson and donated to the auxiliary was awarded to Ron Hilke during the Dec. 21 drawing.
The February Sloppy Joe Feed was discussed. The date will be determined. Proceeds from the event will go toward the scholarship fund which will be given to a high school student who is pursuing a health related career.
Wegge appointed the following committees: Volunteer coordinator will be Sadie Darvell and Carol Lagoo; membership, Beverly Beck; gift shop, Helen Billig.
Upcoming events include the spring forum of District B Hospital Auxiliaries which will be April 18 in Virginia.
The next regularly scheduled meeting of the auxiliary will be at 10 a.m. Feb. 5 at the hospital.
