International Falls city councilors Monday are scheduled to hear the second reading of an amendment to an ordinance that would require landlords to hire garbage service for their rental units.
The city council meeting is scheduled to begin at 5:30 p.m. in the council chambers at the Falls Municipal Building. An agenda is considered tentative until the government body begins the meeting and makes additions or deletions to the proposed agenda.
The second reading of the amendment is followed by the amendment being published. It will then take immediate effect, according to city staff.
Also on Monday’s agenda is to hear a recommendation of the Finance and Legislation Committee for a rental fee schedule.
The council is also expected to approve a commercial loan for Pat Arnold.
In addition, the council is expected to hear a recommendation from the Human Resources Committee to authorize the Public Works Department to advertise for a vacant light equipment operator. It will also recommend a termination from employment.
The council offers an opportunity for public comment at the beginning of each regular meeting and concludes with reports by administration, department heads and members of the council.
