After having to wait a week because of wintry weather, International Falls’ girls swimming and diving team won big in Thursday’s road meet against Warroad/ Roseau, 110-76.

Of the 12 events, the Broncos won six, along with six runner-up finishes and 10 third-place finishes.

They went 1-2-3 in the 200-yard medley relay, with the team of Courtney Klow, Emily Saari, Sarah Todd and Breanna Shofner winning with a time of 2 minutes, 7.68 seconds.

Abby Kostiuk, Claire Herzig, Emma Misner and Blair Johnson followed in 2:13.05, while the combo of Carolann Stone, Josie Bates, Jenna Anderson and MacKenzie Gunnerson took third in 2:24.96.

Todd, Herzig, Klow, and Shofner combined to win the 200 freestyle relay (1:53.74). The Broncos’ team of Anderson, Misner, Gunnerson and Tayler Hebner added a third-place finish in 2:02.63.

The Bronco divers also went 1-2-3. Jessica Hell finished first with 137.7 points, followed by Clara Wenger (137.35) and Kylie Skallman (128.15).

Shofner was a double individual winner, placing first in both the 50 freestyle (27.32) and 100 freestyle (1:00.53).

Kostiuk and Klow also went 1-2 in the 100 backstroke in 1:08.59 and 1:11.87, respectively.

Todd placed second in both the 200 individual medley (2:36.73) and the 100 breaststroke (1:19.04).

Falls’ 400 freestyle relay team of Kostiuk, Stone, Anderson, and Hebner took second in 4:29.11, while Misner, Abby Auran, Kariann Arnold, and Blair Johnson added a third-place finish in 4:34.85.

Johnson also placed third individually in both the 50 freestyle (29.14) and 100 freestyle (1:04.59).

The four other Bronco individual third-place finishes, by name and event, included: Kostiuk, 200 freestyle (2:24.26); Auran, 100 butterfly (1:26.39); Stone, 500 freestyle (6:44.70); and Saari, 100 breaststroke (1:20.71).

The Broncos today are in the IRC/True Team meet.
