Tulsa Oilers forward Drew Fisher of International Falls recorded five points the weekend of Jan. 18-20, including his first professional hat trick to close out the three-game series against the Wichita Thunder.

On Jan. 18, Fisher assisted Patrick Schafer on the game-tying goal and followed up by scoring the game-winner on a shorthanded breakaway.

Fisher opened the scoring on Jan. 20 with a backhanded shot past Thunder goalie Torrie Jung.

Nine minutes later, Fisher unloaded a one-timer from the bottom of the circle into the net.

The 25-year-old Fisher created another breakaway early in the second period and slipped the puck under Jung to complete his first career hat trick.

However, Fisher’s three goals weren’t enough as Wichita ended up defeating Tulsa, 5-4.

Fisher, who closed out his collegiate career last season at Bemidji State University and then appeared in six games for the Oilers at the end of the 2011-12 season, has played in every single game for Tulsa in 2012-13.

He is one of three players from the Falls on the Oilers’ team, which also includes Ben Gordon and Ryan Cramer.
