The top-seeded International Falls Legion baseball team will open the Division II District 8 Tournament at 5:15 p.m. Tuesday in Marble to face the winner of a play-in game between Moose Lake and Brookston.
Tuesday's winner will advance in the double-elimination tournament to the winners' bracket to face the winner between Taconite (Greenway) and Milaca at 12:15 p.m. Friday in Ely, while the loser will play in a losers' bracket game at 1 p.m. Friday in Soudan.
The other four teams in the tournament are Ely, Esko, Two Harbors and Deer River. The tournament runs through Sunday with the finals set for 4 p.m. If no team remains undefeated after that game, another winner-take-all game will take place at 6:30 p.m. Sunday in Ely to decide the district champion, which will advance to the state tournament.
