The Broncos are on a four-game winning streak since last Thursday’s home victory over Virginia.
On Friday, Ben Humbert recorded 15 strikeouts when International Falls’ baseball team won a road game against Mesabi East, 5-2.
“(Catcher) Christian (Kittelson) called a good game, and I did what I could to help the team win,” Humbert said.
In seven inning pitched, Humbert allowed 2 earned runs on 4 hits with 5 walks. At the plate, he added 2 singles and walked twice while scoring 2 runs.
Kevin Kilbride doubled twice and Gunnar Anderson also doubled for the Broncos.
The Giants’ Ben Suslavich worked 6 1/3 innings to record the pitching loss, give up all 5 runs, three earned, on 6 hits with 3 walks while striking out eight.
Alex Rowbottom allowed a hit and 2 walks with a strikeout closing out the final 2/3 innings.
Suslavich accounted for two of Mesabi East’s 4 hits with a pair of singles.

Falls was able to complete Monday’s home game between the spurts of rain and defeated Mountain Iron-Buhl, 10-0, in five innings.
“It’s always nice to beat a team 10-0,” Humbert said.
The Broncos tallied 8 runs in the bottom of the second when the Rangers’ pitchers gave up 6 walks while facing 14 batters.
MI-B starting pitcher Noah Erickson left the game in the bottom of the second after giving up four consecutive walks. He recorded the loss after allowing 8 runs on 5 hits with 5 walks working 1 1/3 innings.
Seven different batters accounted for Falls’ 7 singles.
Broncos sophomore Wyatt Ulrich picked up his second varsity pitching victory as he scattered 4 hits and a walk while striking out six to record the shutout.
I. Falls 5, Eveleth-Gilbert 2
Falls junior Caleb Dahlin pitched all seven innings and gave up 2 hits Tuesday when the Broncos defeated Eveleth-Gilbert for the second time this season by winning the road game, 5-2.
All five of Falls’ runs came in five separate innings from a pair of freshmen as Jack Mellstrom scored three times and Jackson Vollom twice.
The Broncos, whose season record improved to 8-5, next host Duluth Marshall in a doubleheader starting at noon Saturday.
