The Littlefork-Big Falls boys basketball team avenged a home loss in overtime from last December by defeating Chisholm, 50-43, to open the Section 7A Tournament on Thursday in the Hibbing Memorial Arena.
The Vikings, who improved their season record to 13-10, advance to the Section 7A quarterfinals to face the Subsection's top seed, North Woods, in a game set for 2:45 p.m. Saturday at Hibbing Memorial.
The quarterfinal winner advances to Wednesday night's semifinals, which will also be held at Hibbing Memorial.
North Woods opened the tournament Thursday winning against the No. 8 seed, Mountain Iron-Buhl, 71-40.
