Tyler Lehman is starting to show his offensive side.
In Tuesday night’s 75-60 win over Lake of the Woods at home on Parent’s Night, the Littlefork-Big Falls junior finished with 17 points, including 12 in the second half. Lehman was coming off a 19-point performance Friday in a win at Ely.
“He’s put together a couple nice games,” Vikings head coach Jeff Maish said.
Garrett Larson scored a game-high 28 points against the Bears (5-14), Zach Stencel added 11 points, Kyle Burmeister scored eight points and Jesse Steele tallied seven points in front of a big crowd at Littlefork-Big Falls High School.
Lake of the Woods got a team-high 19 points from Nick Schoper, 14 points from Mac Johnson and 11 points from Chris Novak.
After taking a 32-22 lead into the break, the Vikings (11-5) continued to run up and down the court with the Bears in the second half. The back-and-forth pace led to numerous turnovers and a big Vikings run. Leading by 10 at 46-36, Lehman sank a 3-pointer and sent L-BF into a 16-5 run.
Bears head coach Robert Laine, a former L-BF basketball coach, called a timeout with 8:04 remaining, but the damage had been done and the Vikings led 62-41.
Each team’s reserves started entering the game over the final two minutes.
