The International Falls boys and girls cross country teams both finished third at Monday’s Warroad Invitational.

In the girls competition, Roseau had the top team score with 37 points, followed by Warroad (62), the Falls (76), Thief River Falls (85) and West Marshall (153) as the only teams with at least five finishers to place in the team standings.

The Bronco girls had two top-five individual finishes with freshman Lexi Erickson placing second on the 4,000-meter course in 15 minutes, 38 seconds, and senior Sydney Raboin coming in fifth in 16:02.

“The weather was not the best, but we did pretty well overall,” Raboin said. “We just have keep working towards smaller gap times (between runners) and improving our personal bests.”

Falls’ other three finishers who counted toward the team score included: senior Lexi Owen, 17th in 18:15; freshman Lexi Edwards, 25th in 19:26; and junior Valerie Withers, 27th in 19:28.

Roseau also finished first in the boys competition with 17 points, followed by Thief River Falls (71), the Falls (86), Warroad (104) and Bagley/Fosston (116) as the only teams with at least five finishers.

The Broncos’ top individual, senior Wyatt Ulrich, placed ninth on the 5,000-meter course in 19:15.

Falls’ other four runners who counted toward the team total included: junior Cole Tatsak, 13th in 19:55; junior Ben Erickson, 18th in 20:41; junior Billy Brokaw, 21st in 21:17; and junior Gary Harala, 25th in 22:12.

The Broncos return to action Thursday at 4 p.m. in the Eveleth Lions Invitational.
