Will Serrano

Will Serrano won four separate events during the Broncos’ meet against Virginia Friday. The Broncos lost 91-79.

The Falls High School boys’ swimming and diving team fell at home 91-79 in a dual meet to the Virginia Blue Devils Friday afternoon.

The Broncos scored victories in eight of the 12 events during the meet.

Four of these wins came from freshman Will Serrano, who picked up victories in the 200 medley relay, 200 IM, 100 backstroke and 400 freestyle relay events.

Head coach Steve Joslyn said he took time to reflect on how much his seniors have grown since they started their swimming careers.

“As I update our personal best records, I look back at the graduating seniors and see what their times were in the JV events and smile,” he said. “How far they have come and how inspiring it is to new swimmers to compare where they are in comparison to these seniors.”

The Broncos will be back in the water at 5 p.m. on Feb. 21 when they travel to Grand Rapids to take part in the Section 6A Meet.
