Five first-place and four runner-up individual finishes along with going 1-2 in a pair of relays highlighted the International Falls girls swimming and diving team’s 55-38 dual meet victory Thursday at Northeast Range.
The Bronco swimmers placing first, by name, event and time, included: Kenzie Gunnerson, 50-yard freestyle, 30.58; Breanna Shofner, 100 butterfly, 1:14.24; Sarah Todd, 500 freestyle, 6:53.78; Abby Kostiuk, 100 backstroke, 1:12.67; and Jenna Anderson, 100 breaststroke, 1:28.25.
Falls’ individual runner-up finishers included: Kari Arnold, 200 freestyle, 2:29.47; Emily Saari, 200 individual medley, 2:56.01; Courtney Klow, 100 butterfly, 1:17.39; and Emma Misner, 100 freestyle, 1:06.94.
The Broncos’ team of Kostiuk, Klow, Claire Herzig and Kaylin Hufnagle combined to place first in the 200 medley relay in 2:15.96. Abby Oveson, Saari, Todd and Gunnerson added a second-place finish in that relay event in 2:17.7.
Arnold, Klow, Gunnerson and Shofner placed first in the 200 freestyle relay in 1:59.33. Oveson, Hufnagle, Anderson and Todd came in second in 2:02.61.
