Head coach Tony Casareto said he was impressed by the mental toughness the girls showed over the season, especially from the seniors.
"The seniors faced a lot of deadlines like graduation and prom that they needed to sort out," he said. "However, when the going got tough, they were able to really focus and make some incredible shots at sections."
The Bronco boys' golf team also had three of its members qualify for finals: senior Cole Fish and sophomores Nick Tanner and Mitchell Nemec.
Their final scores Thursday were:
- Nick Tanner - +33
- Mitchell Nemec - +42
- Cole Fish - +49
Casareto said he is very pleased with how the boys' team performed during the tournament and it gives him hope that the girls' team won't be the only ones having state success in the future.
"We're beginning to see growth now and I look forward to potentially a state berth for that team as we move forward," he said. "We have some good young talent as well as three sophomores returning so we're very excited about that."
The AA Girls' State Golf Tournament will be at the Sand Creek Golf Club in Jordan June 11 and 12.
