International Falls’ softball team erupted for 22 hits, including six extra-base hits, when the Broncos won their season opener Tuesday at Chisholm, 19-7.

Falls senior Morgan Bruess pitched a complete game, allowing only 2 earned runs of the seven scored on 3 hits, while striking out 12.

At the plate, Bruess went 4-6 with a double and 3 RBI.

Senior Sam Hams also batted 4-6 in her first varsity game for the Broncos with 2 doubles and 5 RBI.

Other multiple hitters for the Falls included: junior Olivia Santee, 3-6 with 2 doubles and 4 RBI; freshman Cassie Tomczak, 3-6 with a double and 4 RBI; and junior Anna Ringhofer and freshman Meghan Tomczak, both with a pair of hits.

The 1-0 Falls is slated to return to action Tuesday in a road game against Northeast Range.
