Wintry weather in the forecast Thursday didn’t prevent International Falls’ volleyball team from heading to Ely and defeating the Timberwolves in three straight games, 25-20, 25-19, 25-20.
“Tonight our defensive positioning was better and we made some nice digs, but we are still struggling with our serve... and being consistent passers,” said Broncos head coach Erin Shikowsky. “It was their homecoming, so the atmosphere was pretty intense and very loud. All our teams (varsity, junior varsity and eighth grade) were happy to walk away with a win.”
Statistical leaders for Falls’ varsity team included: Olivia Santee, nine digs; Reva Renollet, nine digs, 15 set assists, five kills, three ace serves; Tessa Walls, 11 kills, two ace blocks; and Anah Schwartz, four ace serves.
