The season ended in extra innings Saturday for Littlefork-Big Falls’ baseball team.

L-BF, seeded No. 9 in its Sub-Section, opened the Section 7A Tournament with a road loss against No. 8-seeded Northeast Range, 2-1, in nine innings.

Taylor DeLack accounted for the Vikings’ only hit.

“We just couldn’t hit the ball when we needed to,” said L-BF head coach John Larson.

He noted Northeast Range went with a suicide squeeze play to score the winning run.

Garrett Larson started on the mound for L-BF as he allowed an earned run in five-plus innings. Mitch Nelson closed out the game and recorded the loss.

The Vikings ended the season with just one win.

“Id be lying if I’d say the season was not a disappointment,” John Larson said.

L-BF’s four graduation losses include Nelson, Garrett Larson, Jeff Fry and Cody Anderson from a team in which several underclassmen saw varsity action this season.
