After having won last season for the first time since 2009, the Littlefork-Big Falls baseball team is coming off a 4-13 record in 2011 and seeking more improvement in 2012.
John Larson enters his second season as L-BF’s head coach with his list of top returning players including sophomore shortstop Taylor DeLack, who was a Northern Lakes All-Conference selection, and seniors Mitch Nelson (third base), Garrett Larson (outfield) and Cody Anderson (first base).
Though his list of key graduation losses includes Patrick Boorman, Cody Pfeifer and Reed Pritchard, the head coach said the experience with “returning a lot of players that played last year” and the “attitude of the team” will be strengths this year.
He said the team goals this season are to “win games that we should win and compete in all of the games.”
The head coach said he is looking forward this season to “watching the team get better every day.”
The Vikings begin the season Tuesday when they host Northland.
