Scoring the most points this season while at the same giving up the most points resulted in another loss Friday for Littlefork-Big Falls’ football team.
The Vikings remained winless at 0-5 in the Big North Conference after losing at Chisholm, 73-22.
The Bluestreaks, who led 51-16 at halftime, improved their season record to 3-2.
“Defensively we didn’t do very well,” said L-BF head coach John Larson. “We had a lot of missed tackles.”
On the offensive side of the ball, Larson said the Vikings had their best game of the season and could have done even better had it not been for committing 4-5 fumbles.
He attributed the increased offensive output to sophomore Rylan Henrickson moving from quarterback to running back.
Henrickson ended up with two touchdowns rushing for 203 yards on 21 carries and also hauled in two passes for 48 yards. He scored on runs of 40 and 72 yards.
Chase Ballard, who accounted for L-BF’s other touchdown on a 4-yard run, rushed for 53 yards on 16 carries. Darian Erickson added 37 rushing yards on seven carries.
Sophomore Evan Wimmer took over as the Vikings’ quarterback, completing two of five passes for 48 yards with Henrickson accounting for both catches. Henrickson also threw two passes, completing one to Ballard for 19 yards.
Larson said L-BF had suited up only 17 players, many of whom saw plenty of playing time in the nine-man game on both offense and defense.
He said the Vikings need to work on their defense and conditioning going into Friday’s homecoming game against Cherry, which is also at 0-5.
