The Littlefork Big-Falls softball team improved to 6-1 overall for the season after sweeping a doubleheader Tuesday over Northome/Kelliher.

The Vikings won the first game in five innings, 10-0.

L-BF’s Courtney Pfeifer allowed a hit and struck out two pitching the first two innings, while Kristy Horne Dunn gave up a hit and struck out three pitching the final three innings.

Hitting highlights for the Vikings included 2 hits from Paige DeLack and Brooke Millerbernd hitting a home run over the fence for the second time this season.

L-BF 25, N/K 3

L-BF was also able to finish off N/K after five innings to win the second game, 25-3.

Pfeifer gave up a hit but no runs pitching the first inning, while Millerbernd allowed 3 runs and 3 hits pitching the final four innings.

At the plate, Pfeifer led the Vikings with 3 hits. DeLack had a pair of doubles, Millerbernd added 2 hits, Marissa Siltman doubled with the bases loaded to drive in 3 runs and DyAna Imhof hit a home run — the third round-tripper in 2012 for L-BF.

 

L-BF 12, North Woods 2

L-BF finished off North Woods in six innings Friday when the Vikings won at home, 12-2.

Horne Dunn recorded the pitching victory after allowing both runs in four innings of work. Pfeifer pitched two shutout innings in relief.

Serie Little tripled and Brooke Millerbernd doubled for L-BF.

Vikings head coach Mike Imhof said the team’s pitching and defense have been really good seven games into the season.

L-BF returns to action Thursday in a doubleheader at Hill City.
