Littlefork-Big Falls won seven out of its last 10 matches heading into today’s Section 7A tournament, but are still unsatisfied about how the regular season turned out.

“I don’t think we’ve had a game all season where we’ve played to our potential,” L-BF head coach Kim Wimmer said.

The Vikings (14-10), seeded No. 5, take on No. 12 Mountain Iron-Buhl tonight at home in a rematch of the regular season finale. The Vikings defeated the Rangers 3-1 Thursday.

“It’ll be good to have a home match,” Wimmer said. “Hopefully we get a lot of fans out there cheering us on because MI-B had that going for them last Thursday.”

It doesn’t get any easier for the Vikings after the first round. L-BF finished a combined 1-4 against the top four seeds this season — Deer River, Chisholm, Nashwauk-Keewatin and Bigfork. The lone victory came against Bigfork in the Bigfork Tournament.

“I think if we play the way we’re capable of playing, we’ll be just fine,” Wimmer said.

A victory tonight will pit the Vikings against Bigfork, who split the season series with the Vikings.
