FHS softball team wins big over MI-B
International Falls’ softball team erupted for 8 runs in the second inning Thursday when the Broncos won a road game against Mountain Iron-Buhl, 15-3, in five innings.
The top of the second featured Olivia Santee hitting an inside-the-park home run with two runners on base. Santee ended up batting 3-4.
Shawna Misner had three singles for the Falls, while Bailey Vollom and Teagan Anderson added 2 hits apiece.
“Our bottom half of our lineup really did well,” said Broncos head coach Kevin Gordon.
Anderson also recorded her fifth pitching victory in as many starts. She went all five innings, allowing 3 runs on 5 hits with 2 walks while striking out six.
L-BF softball team downs Blackduck
For the second time this season, the Littlefork-Big Falls softball team trounced Blackduck, winning Thursday’s road game, 19-3, in five innings.
Kristy Horne Dunn pitched the entire game to record victory, allowing the 3 runs on 4 hits.
The Vikings’ leading hitters included Emily Knaeble, who tallied 3 hits, while one of DyAna Imhof’s 2 hits was a home run over the fence. Horne Dunn added 2 hits.
