The Littlefork-Big Falls softball team won big and lost big in two games late last week.

On Thursday against last year’s Class A state runner-up at Cherry, the Vikings lost to the Tigers, 12-0, in five innings.

“Cherry just outhit us and outpitched us,” said L-BF head coach Mike Imhof.

The Vikings’ Kristy Horne Dunn gave up 5 hits and struck out three as she recorded the pitching loss.

L-BF 13, MI-B 0

L-BF’s offense came alive at home Friday when the Vikings defeated Mountain Iron-Buhl, 13-0, in five innings.

Karli Little led L-BF with 3 hits, including a pair of doubles. Brooke Millerbernd also doubled, while Courtney Pfeifer and Serie Little both tripled.

Pfeifer picked up the pitching victory after allowing only a hit and striking out six.

“Courtney pitched a very good game, and we hit the ball well,” said Imhof.

Tuesday’s game rescheduled

L-BF’s home game scheduled for Tuesday against North Woods has been rescheduled for Friday.

The Vikings, who are 2-1 for the season, next host Blackduck on Thursday.
